Our signature Pink Lake Salt is available in bulk format for home use, with fine, medium or coarse consistencies to choose from!

Mount Zero Pink Lake Salt is a natural gourmet salt product that varies in pigment from wet to dry. The local provenance of the salt, along with the hand harvesting, natural sun drying and the complex mineral content provides a complex, well-rounded flavour - dissimilar to many sharp-tasting refined salts.

The lake is fed by natural salt aquifers and each summer dries out to reveal a bed of salmon-coloured pink salt. Mount Zero and the lake's traditional owners, the Wotjobaluk community, have been working together to hand-harvest a small amount of salt from the lake each year.

Through analysis of the salt, we know that it is a concentrated store of natural mineral nutrients - rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulphur, iron, manganese, zinc and copper as well as being rich in beta carotene.

Pink lake salt bulk bucket

I was left extremely disappointed. The product and service itself was amazing. There were 3 options to choose from, fine Medium and Course with each one specifying the use for each option. ‘We recommend the Coarse salt for use in grinders and the Fine and Medium salts as a pinch-and-season option.’
I ordered medium expecting it to be salt flakes instead I received a what I would say (as a chef) fine salt. Which I was extremely disappointed about. Now I’m stuck with a 5kg tub of salt that I didn’t want.

Hi Laurel,

Thanks for your review and order, we're sorry to hear that our medium grind Pink Lake Salt didn't meet your expectations.

Our Pink Lake Salt is naturally processed and dried by ourself and the Barengi Gadjin Land Council by wild harvesting the crystalised mineral salt from the lake as it dries and milled to each consistency. As flakey salt is formed using salinated water that is dried using trays, our processing methods don't allow for this unfortunately so we don't offer this option.

Whilst our medium grind Pink Lake Salt is fantastic for seasoning food in the kitchen, we understand that you were after a finishing salt with a flakey consistency so our customer service team will reach out to you to via email.

Thanks again for your support!
