Our signature Pink Lake Salt, milled to a coarse consistency and then spiked with Victorian-grown Yuzu peel to create a zesty seasoning.

This limited-edition Pink Lake Salt grinder features dried yuzu zest from our good friends at Mountain Yuzu, making for an incredibly vibrant and zesty seasoning to add brightness to your salads, marinades and dishes. If you're feeling adventurous, try grinding it over sashimi, or even add a sprinkle to a bowl of vanilla ice cream!

Following our commitment to sustainability and minimising waste, we use the same Victorian-grown yuzu fruit that makes it into our beloved Yuzu Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This way, we can turn what would have been a waste product into something equally delicious and versatile to cook with!

Mount Zero Pink Lake Salt is a natural gourmet salt product that varies in pigment from wet to dry. The local provenance of the salt, along with the hand harvesting, natural sun drying and the complex mineral content and provides a complex, well-rounded flavour - dissimilar to many sharp-tasting refined salts.

The lake is fed by natural salt aquifers and each summer dries out to reveal a bed of salmon-coloured pink salt. Mount Zero and the lake's traditional owners, the Wotjobaluk community, have been working together to hand-harvest a small amount of salt from the lake each year.

Through analysis of the salt, we know that it is a concentrated store of natural mineral nutrients - rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulphur, iron, manganese, zinc and copper as well as being rich in beta carotene.

Yuzu salt

I love anything yuzu.
During the pandemic I went a bit crazy with the help of Mountain Yuzu.
Yuzu kosho , yuzu marmalade ,preserved yuzu , yuzu portokalopita cake made with filo pastry. 😵‍💫

Pink Lake Salt Grinder with Yuzu Zest

Pink Lake Salt Grinder with Yuzu Zest is a game changer. As soon as the contents hits the tastebuds the citrus freshness and flavour of yuzu married with the pink lake salt raises salt 2 a new level. Having this on fresh fish heightens and compliments the flavour. On salad it adds something that baffles guests in a delightful way. This product is a definite winner in my opinion.

Salty over citrusy

I’m slightly obsessed with Yuzu so was excited to try this product. Unfortunately the ratio of salt to Yuzu peel isn’t sufficiently balanced so you end up with more salt than Yuzu citrus flavour. I think this is a consequence of the grinder which can easily grind the salt flakes but has a slightly harder time with the peel so you get less of it.

Mount Zeroes Yuzu infused olive oil and Yuzu infused chocolate are both far superior to the salt.

Pink salt is an all time favourite distinct salt flavour and infused with yuzu zest is perfect. This adds another level of flavour to enhance many foods, which is different, fresh, zesty and special.
