The Press | Sandra Seah Chef & Six-Eyed Scorpion

How would you introduce your brand to someone who has never heard of Six-Eyed Scorpion?

Six-Eyed Scorpion is a modern, Asian-inspired condiment brand with the motto of: flavour first, community always, never boring.

We want to elevate Asian food culture in a way that is exciting and approachable.

Our signature product is our crispy chilli oil: built to be the best-tasting, best-quality product on the shelf. No shortcuts.

We started within the community, and we’re still deeply rooted in it. Throughout our journey, we just want to have fun and have a good time every step of the way.

You recently released your first Chilli Oil using EVOO. What made a Mount Zero extra virgin olive oil base feel like the right direction for Six-Eyed Scorpion?

Honestly, our community would not stop asking for it. So when Mount Zero reached out about a collab, it felt less like an opportunity and more like fate. It was an absolute no-brainer to add this Crispy Chilli Oil: Extra Virgin Olive Oil to our range.

What was the most surprising thing you learned about olive oil while developing this with the Mount Zero team?

How dramatic olive oil is about Melbourne weather! It's such a natural product that it solidifies at the tiniest drop in temperature, and as we know - in Melbourne, that's basically every day.
We joked that the oil is the biggest diva in the kitchen.

Six-Eyed Scorpion is all about quality with no shortcuts; what convinced you Mount Zero's approach to olive oil matched that same standard?

Mount Zero is legendary in the food and hospitality industry. Practically every restaurant I've worked in used their oil, so I already knew that the quality and consistency were unmatched.

Beyond that, their genuine passion for sustainable farming and premium ingredients mirrors exactly what we stand for. Pairing with you felt like finding a partner who speaks the same flavour language we do.

How do you recommend to use this new oil?

Drizzle it generously over Italian classics like pasta and pizza, or use it to dress fresh vegetables and salads. It adds a spicy, fragrant kick with a silky finish to everything.

We loved your launch video. What inspired this fun piece of cinematography?

My partner, Jordana is our creative director across every campaign and her brain is very… unique haha. She always says “being boring is a crime” and brings something fun, cheeky and unexpected to the brand. She's an absolute rockstar.

What recipe have you shared with us and why?

Spring has sprung, the sun's out, and we wanted a recipe that lets the new oil shine.
So we're sharing a fresh, spicy watermelon, feta and mint salad.
Vibrant, simple, different, and perfect for a picnic or beach day.
